Speaking in tongues... REALLY!

One of  the most controversial things in the modern day Church, especially in the Charismatic movement, is the speaking of tongues, or claiming to actually be able to do this. 

This actually has its origins in ancient paganism. 

This is what Paul was dealing with in 1st Corinthians chapters 12,13 and 14 in the Corinthian Church he founded. They were claiming to be able to speak in an unknown language, or angelic language. 

But if you do a close word study, when Paul uses the word tongue ( γλῶσσα

gloce'-sah

Of uncertain affinity; the tongue; by implication a language (specifically one naturally unacquired): - tongue.) tongues, one means various known languages, the other one is gibberish. 

1 Corinthians 14:6-12

6Now, brothers,^a if I come to you speaking in tongues, how will I benefit you unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or teaching? 7If even lifeless instruments, such as the flute or the harp, do not give distinct notes, how will anyone know what is played? 8And if the bugle gives an indistinct sound, who will get ready for battle? 9So with yourselves, if with your tongue you utter speech that is not intelligible, how will anyone know what is said? For you will be speaking into the air. 10There are doubtless many different languages in the world, and none is without meaning, 11but if I do not know the meaning of the language, I will be a foreigner to the speaker and the speaker a foreigner to me. 12So with yourselves, since you are eager for manifestations of the Spirit, strive to excel in building up the church.

There is no instance anywhere in the Bible where someone spoke in an unknown tongue other than normal human language. Each time it was used, people heard and understand everything that was being said. Nowhere in the Bible is it stated that something was spoken that no one could understand!

This is a mix of paganism and Christianity. It was going on before the Christian church was founded. In Samaria in the Old Testament times, they had a mix of paganism and Judaism, which made them so offensive to the Jews from Judah. It continues today with the Catholic Church mixing Christianity and paganism. 

There is no place in the Bible for praying to Angels saints or that some man can forgive and absolve sins. 

Only Christ can do that through His atoning blood.

 I don't understand the fascination with this and people who want to get carried away with this in the service! 

This is nothing but chaos to God's Church!

1 Corinthians 14 "33For God is not a God of confusion but of peace."

  God is not the author of confusion, rather the author of order. 

This is just another attack by Satan on the modern-day Church. He always tries to embarrass Christ and other Christians and show the world how ridiculous he can make the Church look. As Paul said in 1Corinthians "23If, therefore, the whole church comes together and all speak in tongues, and outsiders or unbelievers enter, will they not say that you are out of your minds?" 

If somebody came into a church,that knew nothing about church, and walked in and these people are running up and down the aisles screaming and yelling and speaking in unknown languages, they would say that you are out of your mind! 

Sadly, they would be correct. 

Why this persists in the modern day church, when Paul so clearly laid out an airtight case for it in first Corinthians chapter 12 13 and 14, I do not know! 

Other than just plain biblical ignorance,  people not picking up the Bible reading it themselves. A simple word search on the word tongue and tongues, will clearly show that Paul made it clear different between known languages, and gibberish. It has always been Satan's tool to use something God's created to be Holy and pervert it.  He never comes up with anything original, and this is just another prime example of it.

If ever there was an indication of this, it is the candidates we have for the upcoming election. Never in the history of the United States have I ever seen so poorly qualified candidates in my life! One is extremely liberal the other is an absolute threat to our Republic! I am firmly convinced if Donald Trump gets re-elected, he will weaponize the army through the Insurrection Act and establish himself as leader for life, which is what he tried to do during the January 6th riots. I don't understand how anybody could possibly defend him and his actions. He has no concern for the United States its future, or the future generations who come after him. All he cares about is a grab for sheer raw power, and unfortunately the Republican party has been taken over by extremist group who feels the same way. They are only concerned with grabbing and maintaining as much power as they possibly can, even if it means destroying this great Republic that we have all enjoyed up to this point. 

Benjamin Franklin said it best during the Constitutional Convention.  He was asked by Elizabeth Willing Powell,  "What are you creating?" Mr. Franklin  replied "A republic, if you can keep it." We are at the verge of losing our Republic. The Democrats are even worse, the news just reported that on Easter President Biden proclaimed the day to celebrate Transgender Day of Visibility! Could there be any greater abomination of the Holiest Day on the Christian calendar than this? Let's see him proclaim this during Ramadan!

There is no doubt about it, if we as a nation do not repent of our sins turn back to God and His way and seek His face as it says in II Chronicles 7:14 " If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land." we will face the same fate as every society that has turned its back on God since the creation of man. We are going down the same path lined out in Romans 1:18 to 32.

Rom 1:18  For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. 

Rom 1:19  For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 

Rom 1:20  For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. 

Rom 1:21  For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 

Rom 1:22  Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 

Rom 1:23  and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things. 

Rom 1:24  Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, 

Rom 1:25  because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. 

Rom 1:26  For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 

Rom 1:27  and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. 

Rom 1:28  And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. 

Rom 1:29  They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, 

Rom 1:30  slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 

Rom 1:31  foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 

Rom 1:32  Though they know God's righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them. 

If we are not a nation abandoned by God according to this passage of Scripture, it doesn't apply to any who's ever existed on this Earth! How can we act so abominable before God and expect Him to bless this nation when we fight to the death for a woman's right to destroy her unborn baby, for trans rights, for everything in God's Word that he says is a sin. Everything that He despises, this society embraces! They  defend with every fiber of  their being everything that is  antithetical to anything in the Bible. It is shocking how we have started walking away from God during the baby boomer generation, of which I am part of, and it's only gotten worse.  Why can we not see what is going on? Why can we not see our nation crumbling before us? Why do put up with this? Why are we allowing this to happen? 

Have we forgotten, that we can recall any elected officials through a recall election, or do we just not care? What kind of future are we trying to leave to our children and grandchildren? Does anybody care? Is anybody listening? We have become so dull of hearing and so blind that we are going  headlong off the cliff without any concern for the next generation or for our future, as far as that goes. What happened America? What happened to morals and values? What happened to things that made this country great? Why are we embracing every evil, every vile act, and  taking us further and further into the pit! God have mercy on this Nation. The next generation is going to have to pick up our mess, if they can, if there's a Republic to pick up. I don't know that by the time I die, if there will be a Republic. If things keep going the way they are I'm certain there will not be. If things don't change, my grandchildren will not know the America I grew up in, know the freedom and the privileges that I knew. All I will be able to tell them about is the Republic we lost, because we were not willing to stand up. We were not willing to take a stand.

the last January 6th committee hearing

As I was listening to the January 6th committees final hearing, there was overwhelming evidence that Trump highly organized and coordinated this rebellion against our government. 

I cannot imagine a more treasonous, or insurrectionist act by US citizen, made much more appalling by the president of the United states! 

He has denigrated every service member who has ever fought,served, bled,and died for this country! From the revolutionary war, to present day! 

 I have never seen such self-centeredness selfishness and unconcern for the future of this country, or citizens as this. I cannot understand anyone supporting him in any way, shape, or form. Trump, and those who follow him, care nothing for this country, or for the future of this country. 

For over 200 years we have been known for a peaceful transition of power every 4 years at the end of our elections, and every president has willingly went along with this except one, Donald J. Trump! 

Anyone, and especially the senators and representatives who went along with him, and backed him, are in my opinion, no longer qualified to hold their office. Mind-boggling as it may seem, some were recently re-elected. I cannot begin to understand where their patriotism or love of country is, who voted for them. 

Have we so far departed from Biblical morality that we cannot discern right from wrong? Or are our senses so dulled by the 24/7 news feed and corruption going on in the world that nothing shocks us and upsets us anymore? What will it take to shake us from our lethargy and bring us to the reality that we need to deal with this severely? It is not an overstatement to say that our Republic is in grave danger of falling! Regardless if they decide to press charges against Trump or not, to let something like this slide by is something we cannot as a country overlook. Also, keep in mind that our enemies are watching, and you better believe they will use this to their advantage. 

Our only hope is to fall on our knees and ask God to forgive this great nation and return us back to His side to His Word and to His Way. If we don't start there, we are defeated before we even begin. If we even have an interest in beginning.

The Blasphemy of the CBS show Ghosts

 We were watching the show Ghosts, on CBS, on Thursday December 15th. I cannot imagine a television program trying to be any more blasphemous and anti God than this one! 

As the story line goes, one of the Bed and Breakfast owner's sister came for a stay with her new boyfriend, which is fornication. Her hope was that her former boyfriend, who died in the house, and is now one of the ghosts in the house, could possess her new boyfriend so she could have sex with him one last time! Which is fornication, which God clearly states is a severe sin, 18Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin^e a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. 

The way they tried to make the possession happen was by electrocuting the boyfriend, which wound up killing him, and turning him into a ghost. Right before this, the other owner was electrocuted, and possessed by another ghost at the house, Thor, who seems to have some ability to resurrect the dead, i.e. Jesus resurrecting Lazarus in, John 11: 1-44. He does so by resurrecting the dead boyfriend! 

Also Isaac, one of the other ghosts, who is gay, is struggling with trying to kiss his boyfriend, comes to and epiphany and rushes to his gay lover and kisses him passionately! God says in His Word this is an abomination! Leviticus 18:22 You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination. Leviticus 20:13 If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them. 

All of this happening during the celebration of God returning to the Earth as Savior of the world to forgive the sins of mankind, for the first time since He departed in Ezekiel Chapter 11.

 I am not brow beating gays, fornicators or any other sinner, because we all are sinners in need of God's forgiveness, grace and mercy, but to do what they have done in such rebellion against God is not just sinning, but full out rebellion against God and all He stands for. 

To my Christian friends, how sinful does something have to be before we are willing to stand up and say enough! What does it take for you to take a stand for Christ and say we will not watch this or tolerate this silently? We need to stand up and be heard and make known that we do not condone this radical hyper sexual agenda they are trying to shove down out throats! 

We do not want to present ourselves to be angry or self righteous, but loving and share the Word of God with them, because by His Word, they will be held accountable and be judged by it, if they do not repent of their sins and surrender their life to Christ. My hope and prayer is for repentance, revival and another Great Awakening.

So the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that a woman can go topless in public? 

This on the heels of the #Metoo movement! 

 

How can these two concepts exist in the same society/culture? 

Answer, when a people cast off God and His Biblical morals. 

We are a society that is reaping what it has sown. The book of Judges states this situation very well, it says "Jdg 21:25 WEB In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did that which was right in his own eyes."
